"Keep the dust off the pure individual creation; preserve the new; sustain the change; protect progress; defend and prolong the advance; renew the excitement; repeat the flight."
Mierle Laderman Ukeles, 'Maintenance Art Manifesto', 1969
Street Art Museum Amsterdam has developed a series of workshops tailored to various audiences.
In a contemporary world of swiping and clicking, the values of the old-fashioned craft, cursive writing, is being put into question. The fluid motion employed when writing script enhances hand-eye coordination and develops new motor skills, in turn promoting reading, writing and cognition skills. Calligraffiti is an artist-led workshop teaching the style with specialist materials alongside TeamBlazin; a professional calligraffiti artist.

Paint it like Banksy
In the ‘Paint it like Banksy’ workshops, the SAMA team assists participants in creating a Banksy-esque art work! From finding an image, to cutting your own stencil and spraying it with your first spray can, this workshop allows you to experiment and create an exciting piece of art.
The tailored activities are team building driven and focus on self-discovery, emotional intelligence competencies and communication. What SAMA offers is a unique creative activity, tailored for a particular occasion around a particular theme. It may take the form of a process or a work of art. The aim is to broaden perspectives of those involved whilst having fun, in an informal yet focused manner.
Subversive and irreverent, Dada, more than any other movement, has shaken society’s notions of art and cultural production. Within the context of SAMA, we look at Dada as a great grand father of street art and/or social art as it is becoming today. The workshop is about playing with perception of one’s mind and finding alternative solutions in a playful yet memorable way.
