The artwork is a silhouetted skyline of the iconic buildings of the Sloterdijk district decorated with multicoloured squares made by the children (background) and their names in the foreground.
Iconography:
The artwork was created by the artist Metin Bagirgan and the children who participated in a SAMA workshop in collaboration with Slotermeer School. The subject is the Sloterdijk district, part of the cultural and social centre of the Nieuw-West district where SAMA is located.
