EL PEZ

Between the years 2000 and 2005, Barcelona was a hub for young graffiti artists developing a new style of pictorial and increasingly conceptual street art, distinct from the tagging, territoriality, and machismo which most people would associate with North American graffiti, inspired by the movements emerging in New York City in the 1980s. Pez is a self-taught artist who began his practice through graffiti tagging in Barcelona in 1999. Out of his graffiti style emerged his iconic and globally recognized ‘smiling fish’ which has dominated his artwork ever since. Know more about the artist in:
