French street artist Sandrine Estrade Boulet takes pictures of everyday objects on the streets of Paris and then draws over them to give new meaning to ordinary things like street posts, puddles, or even a broken umbrella.

Physical Description:

The artist creates a work based on urban aesthetics, adding small elements in order to modify the iconographic meaning of some street signs. In this case, she decided to reinterpret the monotony of brick and turn it into a colourful notepad with the help of acrylic paints.

Iconography:

Sandrine Boulet plays with the aesthetics of the street to change the meaning of preset neutral elements.In this case she reuses the rectangular shape of a brick to create a small urban painting representing a notepad.
