Hamsterdam Paste up
Street Art Museum Amsterdam
French street artist Sandrine Estrade Boulet takes pictures of everyday objects on the streets of Paris and then draws over them to give new meaning to ordinary things like street posts, puddles, or even a broken umbrella.
Schiphol the Base
Gone / Illegible
A modestly sized black and white paste-up depicting a 'hamster lady' with cartoonish features inspired by comic book aesthetics, followed by the words 'Hello Hamster-Dame'. The work is rich in decorative elements, such as the pink for the heels and the hamster's handbag or the "rock" pickle at the side of the main figure.
Artwork that plays with the meaning and pronunciation of the word "Amsterdam", which in this case is understood as "Hamster-Dame", as highlighted by the paste-up depicting the animal.
