The facade of the wall where the apartment is located is covered in windows, making the corner of the building the only place where an artwork could be applied .
Iconography:
The technique to do this work was a mix of both freestyle spray paint and brush strokes using only environmentally friendly materials, such as water based spray paint and acrylic. Anna suggested a tree, and within 24 hours Campos has turned the idea into an artwork. The Gaia tree is being watered by a girl, ethnically representative of the residents of favella. At the same time she is wearing yellow rubber gloves giving a hint of her belonging to Northern Europe, because according to the artist’s observations whilst staying in Amsterdam “in favella one does not water plants wearing those”.
