Digital God in Amsterdam

What happens when graffiti meets glitch, when pixels replace spray cans, and when anti-heroes are 3D-printed instead of hand-thrown onto a wall? Digital God is an exploration of these questions — and an unapologetic celebration of the evolution of street art into the digital dimension.

Hosted in the beating heart of Amsterdam, Dam Square’s Vrij Paleis becomes the temporary temple for this vibrant, mixed-media pilgrimage. But what does a “Digital God” have to do with street art? Everything, apparently.
Street art has always been multi-disciplinary — a shape-shifter, a rule-breaker. Its bold graphics and high-impact visuals translate seamlessly into digital formats. More than that, the street has always been a testing ground for new worlds, new messages and new gods. In today’s reality, where artists hustle to stay visible and survive, the digital domain isn’t just an extension — it’s a necessity. It’s the new wall, the new canvas, the new hustle.

Thanks to street-savvy movers like Chinny Bond and his powerful network of creators, Digital God becomes more than a show — it’s a living archive of urban mythology and future visions. A place to see, feel, touch, and talk about what’s coming and what’s slipping away.
Personally? I walked away with a small 3D-printed anti-hero from Taketo Kobayashi (@humanoise). His 'anti-Porco' is a relic from the past — a quiet farewell to a practice, a shift in form.

I won’t make these anymore. Future ones will look like this,
Taketo whispered.
And I knew: we at SAMA have always collected the memory, the discarded, the endangered. This small object from Japan now stands as a symbol of transition — a token of what street art was and what digital art might become.
You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. But in this space, we catch it — right on the edge of disappearing.
